Throughout my life my parents have played a huge role in who I have become. They have sacrificed everything they have in order to get me here. I was born in South Korea and lived there until the age of 9. I spent most of my time going to tutoring academies after school, violin and piano lessons, as well as swimming lessons so I rarely had time to play as a child. My father did everything he could to bring my brother and I to the United States so we can get good education. The culture difference alone had me really stressed out for a few years but I acclimated well to the environment and made a lot of friends. I have always been involved in extracurricular activities. When we moved to Colorado from Korea, I started playing ice hockey and soccer. 3 years after that we moved to Florida where I began playing football and joined orchestra at the middle school. Later in high school I became the captain of the football team and was the top violinist at the school. I started playing piano at church and became a pianist for a local Korean church in Orlando. From past experiences I know that I can be good at anything as long as I put my heart to it and work for it. I learned so many things about life throughout high school. When I was younger I felt invincible and thought I could get away with anything. I started to make wrong decisions and got in trouble a couple times with the law. Although I am not happy with me getting in trouble, I learned from my mistakes and it helped me start to think more before acting. During my junior year of high school, one of my best friends passed away in a car accident. I was supposed to be in the car with him but for some reason my mom just would not let me go out. I thank God for that moment when my mother decided not to let me out. Losing a best friend was one of the hardest moments of my life. From that point on I took an interest in becoming a doctor so I can help people in need. I started taking biology classes and studied pre-med at UCF. I plan to graduate from UCF with a degree in Biology by 2016 and hopefully get in to a medical program in the Air Force. My ultimate goal is to become a trauma doctor so I can do my best to save people who are in danger of losing their life. I also want to travel to different countries on mission trips to help the less fortunate. I am ready for whatever is ahead and I am willing to go beyond my limits to tackle my goal to save lives. Everybody needs a superhero in their lives.
